Auphorie - Eau De Formosa / Eau De Nyonya / Binturong
"Be ready to be transported to our perfumers' homeland, the beautiful Southeast Asia, where plenty of exotics are here to extend a warm welcome to all perfumistas and perfume connoisseurs. This unusual fragrance features a myriad of exotics from this part of the world, and is named after one of the most important species native to this region. Binturong is an iconic, sacred, and rare animal species native to Southeast Asia, especially Malaysia (Binturong was first discovered in Malacca). Binturong, also known as bearcat, is closely related to Asian palm civet, although both species are greatly different in many ways, such as body size, habits, etc.
To elaborate the theme of Binturong, we introduce a variety of Southeast-Asian elements to the composition. The fragrance opens with notes of incense and mixed spices, elevating later notes of cannonball flower and iris. Notes of amber and labdanum gradually emerge, blended with notes of several precious woods including white sandalwood, Laotian oud and cedarwood. Meanwhile, patchouli, caramel and black coffee further enrich the overall scent from the background. Throughout the development of the fragrance, there is an obvious animalistic note, which is a mixture of musk, civet, castoreum, and ambergris. This animalistic part of the scent weaves through the different stages of the fragrance development, resulting in a dry, powdery, and intimate effect. As with all of our other products, this fragrance DOES NOT contain any animal derivatives. All animalistic notes are composed using quality materials of plant and synthetic origin only. 100% vegan-friendly." - a note from the brand.

"A unique original scent composition featuring exotic notes related to the Baba-Nyonya (Peranakan Chinese) heritage and culture in Malaysia. One of the most well-known things that relates to the Baba-Nyonya culture must be the "Nyonya kuih", which means Nyonya dessert snack. We have distilled the essence of "Nyonya kuih" into Eau De Nyonya. Besides the delicacies, Eau De Nyonya has also captured the essence of a Baba-Nyonya mansion -- elegant, aged, exotic. This is the fragrance that would bring your soul to the land of Baba-Nyonya while extending a very warm welcome to you with the warmest smile and greetings -- "Selamat Datang!" (“Selamat Datang”: “Welcome” in Malay language.)
The opening of this fragrance features the scents of Tapai Pulut (a Peranakan sweet dessert made of fermented glutinous rice) and a rich concoction featuring Pandan (screwpine) leaf mixed with coconut milk and Gula Melaka (Malaccan coconut sugar). Apart from the sweet combo that “Nyonya kuih” is famous for, the scent also shines with a floral heart including jasmine sambac and violet, enlightened with rare natural Orris butter. The juxtaposition between the floral bouquet and Nyonya desserts creates an interesting effect of East-meets-West gourmand-like scent that smells like no other. In a later stage, a touch of cinnamon and chocolate rounds off the bouquet. Sandalwood and benzoin resin follows. As the fragrance continues to unfold itself, a combination of suede, ambergris and musk, with a touch of smoke, makes a smooth and soothing ending." - a note from the brand.

"Formosa, a name once given to the island of Taiwan. It is an old Portuguese word which means “beautiful”. Indeed, Taiwan is a beautiful island that is also known as the Island of Treasures. With this unique fragrance, we explore various “treasures” that Taiwan is famous for. Taiwan is well-known for its variety of fruit produce. Plum blossom, being the national flower of Taiwan, is one of the elements incorporated in this fragrance. Another key element is the Taiwanese lupine flower. Overall, Eau De Formosa is a fragrance that pays homage to classical chypres while introducing various Taiwanese elements and being modern at the same time.
The opening of this fragrance features notes of various fruits, namely mandarin orange, strawberry, pineapple, and dried hawthorn fruit. These are some of the fruits that Taiwan is famous for. Besides, the fragrance also showcases a floral heart with notes of plum blossom , oriental rose bouquet, and Taiwanese lupine flower. Notes of osmathus-infused oolong tea and fresh ginger add an exotic touch to the heart notes. In the later stage, darker notes of amber, precious woods and oakmoss gradually emerge from the brighter heart, draping onto a bed of musk, civet and castoreum.
